Pressure vessels and boiler construction
For applications in chemical plants, power stations, or refineries where medium or high pressure is required.

The standard 10216 has been established for seamless steel tubes (or rather ... pipes), to be used for the transport of liquids or gases under various conditions. The standard is divided into five segments, focused on different applications, temperatures, and media. Thus, these pipes can be found in the chemical industry, but also in heat exchangers. In nuclear installations, but also in heating systems. The use of the old term “boiler pipe” is a bit too simplistic.
The pipes that Bumaco has in stock fall under EN 10216-3, which means they are made of fine-grained steel and are suitable for high pressure and temperatures.
For your information ... few people know the difference between a tube and a pipe (even the Dutch translation of this standard misses the mark here). A tube is for construction, and a pipe is for the transport of a medium.
Given the application for which these pipes are intended, it is logical that, in addition to hardness control and ultrasonic testing, requirements are also set for impact testing and transverse tensile testing. It is perhaps redundant to mention that this material is also supplied with a 3.2 certificate and a CE marking and is of Western European origin.
We do not call that extras, but simply “a different standard”
EN 10216-3 pipes are widely used in industries where reliability, high pressure resistance, and structural safety are paramount.
For applications in chemical plants, power stations, or refineries where medium or high pressure is required.
For the transport of steam or hot liquids in systems where temperature and pressure fluctuations occur.
For pipelines in process installations that transport aggressive media under increased pressure or temperature.
For steam pipes, condenser pipes, and other components of thermal power plants.
In applications where the material needs to remain tough at cryogenic or highly variable temperatures.
For systems in factories and production facilities where liquids or gases are transported under controlled pressure.
