EN 10210 / EN10219: Standard for seamless and welded construction tubes of non-alloy and fine-grain steel

The EN 10210-1/2 standard is a European standard that sets requirements for hot-formed, welded, and seamless steel tube profiles for construction purposes of non-alloy and fine-grain steel types.

The EN 10219-1/2 standard is a European standard that describes the technical requirements for cold-formed welded steel tube profiles for construction purposes of non-alloy and fine-grain steel types.

Both standards were established by the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) and consist of two parts:

  • Part 1 covers the technical delivery conditions.
  • Part 2 specifies the tolerances, dimensions, and shape properties.

Tubes according to the EN 10210 standard are hot manufactured, resulting in improved mechanical properties, higher structural integrity, and better performance under heavy loads or low temperatures. EN 10210 tubes are particularly suitable for load-bearing structures where reliability is essential.

In cold forming according to the EN 10219 standard, the steel is formed into tube profiles without heat, resulting in sharp corners and precise dimensions. These tubes are widely used in situations where light weight, tight tolerances, and economic efficiency are important.
